Reorganisation der Seminar- und Workshopanmeldungen beim ESF 2004

Bis zum 20.09.04 müssen alle Anbieter ihre Zustimmung zum Zusammenlegungsprozess erklärt und die Anmeldegebühren bezahlt haben

With the European Social Forum less than six weeks away, we now need to finalise the programme details and receive payment for the seminars. This email contains important information about how to confirm your seminar and how to pay for it. It also tells you what details you need to provide for the printed programme and the successful interpretation of your seminar at the ESF.

Seminar mergers

The European Programme Group and Preparatory Assembly met in Brussels last weekend and have merged seminars and changed some proposals into workshops. The decisions are in the attached list. You will find details of the other organisations who are involved in your merger on the ESF website at http://www.fse-esf.org/en/programme/list.php?guesswhatshow=on&stage=1

Search by item number and type in the number indicated on the attached document. You then need to submit new details of the agreed title and description of the seminar, including information regarding speakers and the languages in which they will speak, via the seminar form at http://www.fse-esf.org/en/programme/form.php [is this final link?]

If you do not want to be part of a merger, write to us at ukesfproposals@gn.apc.org and we will try to find you a space as a workshop.

These details must be submitted by 20 September.

A provisional timetable for seminars and workshops will be circulated as soon as possible. You should also contact us at ukesfproposals@gn.apc.org if you have problems accessing the website or if you intend to withdraw your proposal.

Workshops

If you are now a workshop, or proposed a workshop originally, please write to us as soon as possible to confirm that you want to continue, and tell us if you want to have a larger, and more costly room, or a cheaper and smaller room. These instructions apply if you have submitted a proposal for a workshop or if your seminar has been reallocated as a workshop.

Payment Details

Once you have submitted this form you also need to pay for the seminar.

Payment must be made by 23 September. The charges per seminar and per workshop are:

Seminar £250 or ?365
Large Workshop £125 or ?180
Small Workshop £75 or ?110

One organisation involved in your seminar or workshop should pay the money and collect it from the others.

You can pay by cheque or bank transfer.

By Cheque

Please send a cheque made payable to "UK ESF Committee" to

ESF c/o NATFHE
17 Britannia Street
London
WC1X 9JP
UK

Tagging

When you are paying for a seminar or workshop you need to tag your payment by adding an identifying number. This is essential so that we can identify which seminar or workshop you are paying for. For seminars: please tag your payment with the number of the merged seminar (eg. D1, E2, etc.). For workshops: please tag your payment using the original item number of your proposal.

Please note that seminar submissions will not be considered confirmed until payment has been received. The deadline for receipt of payment is 23 September 2004.

Further details on interpretation at the ESF

Babels, the international network of volunteer interpreters and translators, will be organising interpretation at the ESF in London. They require further details about your seminar (and speakers) by 5 October. Full details are available in the attached document. Translation facilities from Babels are only available for seminars.

Final checklist:

  1. Check the list of merged seminars and contact the co-ordinators of other proposals to arrange the merger, including the title of the seminar and speakers
  2. Fill in the seminar form at http://www.fse-esf.org/en/programme/form.php by Monday 20 September.
  3. Make payment in Pounds or Euros by cheque or bank transfer by 23 September.
  4. Please email us at ukesfproposals@gn.apc.org if you do not want to be part of a merger and we will try to find you space as a workshop.
  5. Send details about your seminar and speakers to Babels at esf-uk3@babels.org before 5 October.
