How to receive a Visa by the Greek Organisation Committee of the ESF in Athens

We are in process to prepare the lists of participants demanding visa and at time - until 2nd April 2006 - they will be ready and send to the proper Consulate.

The invitation letters will have the form of collective list (1 invitation for every 50 participants, including the analytical list with their names etc). For this reason, it is important to "respect" the formalities that are defined for the issue of visas. Otherwise, you risk having a "collective reject" of visa. In a number of lists, some elements are missing (for example, Father's name, the Sex, Authority etc).

You can download the form here, which should be very concrete for each participant. Please, check it once again, because the process for the issue of visa is very bureaucratically and not so 'friendly'. As soon as you'll have the complete lists please send them to infoathens.fse-esf.org or to kotronakiloukiahotmail.com.

A second thing is that it would be very useful if you could definate one contact person for every 50 persons in order to facilitate the communication.(visa, buses, accomodation etc).

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that you DO NOT have to pay 35 euros for your visa issue (there will be issued “group” visas of 50 people, in which only the coordinator would have to pay 35 euros and the rest of your 1 euro), and you will NOT have to pay 20 euros for your health card.

All those in need of a visa should send their applications as soon as possible. This is even more urgent for those delegations that are in need of a “group” visa.

Additional information for delegations that are going to travel by bus to Athens and also need visa

The Ministry for Foreign Affaires sent us a fax demanding the following data from the already mentioned participants:

1. The concrete name, telephone etc of the Travel Agency, which is in collaboration with each delegation.
2. The number of the buses and the itinerary, which you’ll follow until your arrival in Athens.
3. The schedule of your trip (different countries you’ll pass until you arrive in Athens) and the corresponding entrance’s borderlines.
